Meet a JCHC Resident: Jane Sandler!

JCHC is delighted to introduce our positive and energetic resident, Jane! Jane started out in Lester Senior Living’s independent living apartments about five years ago, and then moved to assisted living this past year. She’s an avid Scrabble player and is now dipping into the world of Canasta. Jane has made quite a few friends here, and enjoys meeting them all for dinner each night in our newly renovated community dining room. Quite frankly, it’s no surprise as to us why Jane has made so many new friends here. She is a lively, positive and smart lady to have around!

Jane’s Advice on Aging Seniors

When we asked Jane about growing older and one piece of advice she would give the younger generation, she did not disappoint! While many people become sentimental with their answers, Jane was very upbeat and practical with her guidance. She said very matter of factly, “Plan for your old age by getting the right term life insurance that covers you when you’re older. Make sure it will come to you eventually and be ready for it.” The teams at JCHC couldn’t agree more with Jane’s financial take on aging.

While everyone would love to remain independent in their homes throughout their old age, no one can predict the future when it comes to health status. A lot of the time, seniors need assistance as they age – and guess what, that is perfectly OK! Not only is it OK, but it is normal and to be expected. Which is why everyone must financially plan for different senior care options. Here at JCHC’s Lester Senior Living, we have independent living, assisted living and memory care apartments for seniors of varying abilities. Because we have all three options available under one roof, it makes support for any of our residents available almost immediately. Which is just one of the many things Jane appreciates most about living at Lester.
