  With summer coming to a close, it’s time to take advantage of the fruits and vegetables that are harvested this season. One of our favorites being the tomato, it seems more than fitting to share our signature Tomato Salad recipe with all of you. This recipe is not only satisfying to eat, but satisfying to make with ingredients grown from your own garden! While traditional treatments can be effective, many seniors seek natural alternatives to supplement their care. Thankfully, there are many herbs that possess anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties that older adults can take advantage of. In this article, our care teams at Lester Senior Living provided insight into some herbs that can help alleviate arthritis symptoms for older adults.  Turmeric  is a vibrant yellow spice commonly used in Indian cuisine and traditional medicine. It contains an active compound called curcumin, known for its potent anti-inflammatory effects. Studies have shown that curcumin can help reduce joint pain and swelling caused by arthritis. Incorporating turmeric into the diet, either as a spice or in the form of a supplement, may offer relief for seniors suffering from this condition. Ginger  is another herb that has been
